Panoramas and other places — not only to be experienced both on the Internet and in the exhibition space, but also in a botanical garden, where an almost indescribable smell prompts an inquisitive look around. The projects of artists Monica Studer and Christoph van den Berg counteract the idea of entirety and the ‘big picture’ according to which historically, panoramas were conceived. They stimulate our yearnings nonetheless — precisely because all of them, almost without exception, are created on the computer.
