Oxalis

Benedikt Hipp
CCA Andratx, Andratx Mallorca, Spain
22 February - 1 May 2019

The title of the show Oxalis refers to the yellow flower blossoming all over Mallorca during February. As the weed plant Oxalis, the show exemplifies a joining of territories and the temporary suspension of artistic sovereignty for the greater good of discovery.
The local territory of each artist is confronted with one another and furthermore exposed to the space of the gallery. For the past 3 weeks an organic inhabitation of artworks has taken place between the walls, floors and ceilings, and we are now ready to reveal the results.

We cordially invite you to the opening of our first exhibition of 2019, which after two years reunites our former resident artists Shane Bradford (UK), Benedikt Hipp (DE), Mary McDonnell (US) and Sissel Marie Tonn (DK).

The artists themselves will be present during the opening and are looking forward to sharing their ideas and thoughts of what has been an intense and explorative project of collaboration, inspiration and territorial domination.
