Werner Reiterer

Three bodies of works are shown in Austrian artist Werner Reiterer’s fourth solo exhibition at Nicolas Krupp. These artworks affect each other in their form and content and illustrate the diversity of Reiterer’s artistic spectrum.
10 two dimensional works from the open series the Site-Specific Mobiles begun in 2001 and are made from a combination of drawings texts and fotos in different sizes. These are devoted to location-dependent projects, which are mainly situated in public spaces. Some of them have been realized, at least temporarily, some were never transposed. The idea of these works is to implement the interventions as absorbed ideas into an open spacial discours and to add their project history.
A representative group of ca. 20 drawings from the open series die gezeichneten Ausstellungen, that accompanies his Oeuvre since 1996, allows a close look at Reiterers ideas of mental environments. All drawings from this series are created equally, with 19 pencils of various strengths are being used for exactly 19 differently shaded grey planes. A constant formalism stamps these images and therefore allows to focus the observer’s view on their different contents. Many drawings were converted to installations and sculptures, others only exist on paper, because they are meant to stay ideas.
The show is completed by 3 interactive acoustic sculptures, which focus on the portrait, and refer at the same time to the two other bodies of works.
We would like to point your attention to the opening of the permanent intervention of Werner Reiterer at the new building of the FHNW Campus in Brugg Windisch on Wednesday, 11th September at 5 pm.

Open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 2–6 pm and by appointment
